With you all the way on this one. When you think in the last election some 60% of the population didn't not vote, (Should have a "NO VOTE" party - WOULD WIN EVERY TIME.) To be honest, I would not vote for any of them unless they did it voluntary and don't receive a parachute payment after they lose their seat.

I am a supporter of NCDMV and want to which of the 3 main parties you are most like, or to make it easier, do you consider yourselves to be left or right wing? Thanks, Joe.

I stand by my no-vote option. The system needs to be reformed rather than people need to be slated. Thew ebsite above has an open debate and, worryingly enough, I know i'm going to need the support of people who understand the system, read the manifestos but reserve the right to avoid a vote.

Received a flyer from Steve, standing in Stevenage for May 2010. This is a really interesting idea and has certainly made me think as I have long thought a "Re-Open Nominations" option should be avaialable.

Having just discovered the petition at Number10.gov.uk, I was disappointed to find that a) It was closed in 2009 b) it had less than 200 names on it. I too want a NOTA vote choice even if I have to loose the £500 deposit to be a candidate.

I have always wanted a NOTA vote choice on the ballot paper so that I can exercise my democratic right to vote but at the same time to express that no candidate represents me. I believe in democracy but sadly not in any of our politicians at present.

What an excellent idea. I am sick and tired of UK politicians citing apathy as the reason for poor election turnouts without any evidence to support their claims. You shouldn't have to vote for a political party whose ideals you don't support in order to have your political sentiments acknowledged. Don't you think it would be better to have a non of the above box than to have unscrupulous fringe parties vying for the *protest vote* ??

IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HEAR IDEAS FROM ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN ORGANISING A COHERENT 'NOTA' STRATEGY IN THE UK (as at the moment, I seem to be the proverbial 'voice in the wilderness'). We are all feeling the same way. I too am campaigning for a NOTA alternative. However, in the meantime, I'm trying as best I can to influence the May 2008 UK local elections with the below message. "When, with turnout frequently falling below 30% in local elections, will the Great British public finally understand that (in the continued absence of a "None of the Above" vote) the only way to register your political protest is to 'spoil' your ballot paper? As far as I can see, the only way to radically change the way politics works in our country involves: 1. Actually 'turning out' to vote. 2. Writing 'Spoiled Ballot' across your ballot paper. 3. Posting your 'protest' vote in the ballot box. At least this way, the politicians will finally understand that the electorate actually cares. Our continued failure to 'turn out' only means that we end up 'electing' the candidates we deserve." robertfrance@live.com

Hello, We found your website through Internet. Hereby we let you know that we have similar preoccupations: since 1994 we struggle for the recognition, in France, of the white ballot as an effective, “non-of-the-above” ballot. We have a website: www.vote-blanc.org which, for the moment being, has only a French version. We list your web site under ‘Partenaires’ section in which we provide our visitors links to similar organizations and speak about your party in ‘Le vote blanc à l’étranger’. We have already contacts with homologous associations in Ireland (this place is on your website) and Spain (again, see under ‘Partenaires’); we will try putting together a network of such organizations within the European Union. If you are interested in common actions, we will be very pleased to have regular contacts. We found that similar organizations exist also in South and North America; visibly the “non-of-the-above” voting option is becoming increasingly popular. Looking forward to hearing from you Olivier Durand

After stand a single seat in the 2005 General Election, the Protest Vote Party was relaunched on June 1st 2006. Like no candidate deserves my vote, the PVP allows the electorate to reject all candidates as unsuitable; effectively voting 'None of the Above'. ======================================== What if… - voters were able to reject all candidates as unsuitable; - people who never vote were given an opportunity to register their dissatisfaction; - each MP faced a personal risk if they voted against their constituents’ wishes; - you could deliver an electoral shock without having to vote for an extreme party; - you could unseat a disliked MP yet still return an MP of the same party; - you could actually vote ‘None of the Above’. www.ProtestVoteParty.org Giving you the right to vote ‘None of the above’ The PVP is an apolitical party. Half the seats that the Protest Vote Party will stand at the next election will be chosen at random. That means every current MP potentially faces a challenge from the PVP. We advise all MPs to look to their constituents. Otherwise at the next election, they might look to us. How can you make a real difference in British politics? "You could join either the Labour or the Conservative party?" The party leadership listen to their members even less than they listen to the general public. "You could vote for the Liberal Democrats?" To what end? Over the past two decades both the main parties have gone into self-destruct while the Lib-Dem's have remained the weak third party with no real power. "You could join a minority party?" Nice ideas, good sentiments, no MP's, no effect. "Win a seat as an independent?" You become 1 out of 646. No chance of changing anything there either, sorry. "You could join up with others and have a riot in the streets?" Yeah, that does seem to work. Even the Iron Lady softened with that one. It's a bit drastic though and could hardly be considered environmentally friendly. "Surely there must be an alternative?" Well instead of trying to fight the main parties, why not encourage their MP's to listen to you more and less to their party hierarchy. "OK, but how do you do that?" You let the public vote ‘None of the Above’. Welcome to the Protest Vote Party.

"Further proof that politicians are terrified millions won't bother to vote at the election - jittery MP's have passed a new law banning anyone standing for Parliament under the name of Mr or Mrs 'None of the Above' on the grounds that it gives them an 'unfair advantage'. They protest too much." "Black Dog", Mail on Sunday Is this true? Have you been banned? If so, it's an outrage and you should take the government to court!

I think your right about the lack of choice to opt out officially rather than be considered apathetic. However, I feel that we should adopt the Aussie idea and make it compulsory to vote, but include a 'none of the above' option. This would indicate your viewpoint on a national scale. It would certainly give all the current parties something to chew on if 60% of the nation returned 'none of the above' on polling day.

There is to be an enquiry to establish why money is not getting through to patients. How long will politicians ignore the money wasted on Gordon Brown’s fountain, proposed golden goodbyes for councillors, the millennium dome, new offices for MP’s, a white elephant of a building in Scotland costing ten times the original estimate and a thousand and one other things.

"No candidate deserves my vote!" is a grassroots movement that aims to empower ordinary people, and we very much welcome your comments. Please think about joining us and becoming involved in our campaign. As a member, or standing as a candidate, there would be no going door to door to canvas for votes; we are the one party not canvasing for support at election time. With your help, and enough candidates, we can increase voter turnout and distinguish voter apathy from voter antipathy.
